Halogen vs Incandescent lighting?

I bought a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that I really like. Only downside, which could be a deal breaker, is the fact that it uses halogen lighting.

Here’s the fan:

I don’t like halogen because its operating temperature and costs to operate are higher than others (even incandescent). But seeing as it’s such a small bulb I wanted to know just how much of it a difference it’d be.

The bulb: 50 watt halogen e11
How hot does this bulb get compared to other Types Of Lighting?
How much more would operating costs be?
Given the build of the ceiling fan, should I be concerned about:
1) The light being a fire hazard?
2) The light heating the room up to much, as it’ll be in a 90 square foot room (9 feet by 10 feet)?

A 50 watt halogen bulb should produce no more than 50 watts of heat, and it’s probably brighter than a 50 watt incandescent. The surface temperature of the bulb is very hot but it’s attached to a fan.
